Vellux 100% Cotton All-Season Blanket

Got this to coordinate with some ivory/light khaki/off-white bedding in a guest room. Ordered the ivory color, which was beautiful in the photos. Not so in-person. This thing is yellow—I’m talking baby room pastel yellow. I poked my finger under an opening in the packaging to see if it was soft & it was. The price is more than I wanted to spend, though it appears to be of a good quality. Not sure of the weight for summer since I didn’t open the package. Too bad about the color or I would have kept it. Debating on whether to try it I another color.

I have extremely sensitive skin and purchase only 100% cotton bedding. In consideration that the blanket had the Oeko-Tex certification, I was confident that it would be the quality I wanted. The lightweight blanket has met my need for softness, breathability and smoothness. The raised striped pattern is soft and attractive. The knit is tight, but breathable. It did have a slight odor when I opened it, perhaps the packaging on the natural fabric, but the odor was no longer there after washing. I washed it on a gentle cycle and it came out as nice as it went in. It also held up well in the dryer, leaving lint in the filter typical of a new blanket.

Good: The blanket looks nice, is 100% cotton and was less than $40 so I bought it. Bad: I had to wash it immediately because it had a strong odor perhaps from plastic packaging not sure. It took forever to dry in the dryer. And it shed a lot and is continuing to shed. I needed two blankets but only bought one to make sure I was satisfied. I will not buy another. I’m going to the mall department stores (while they are still open) and will look for better name brands, Martha Stewart, Fieldcrest, l.l. Bean.

It's a very nice blanket. Heavy but thin enough to not bake you as you sleep. However I am docking a star because these blankets are an absolute freaking NIGHTMARE to dry. They turn into a burrito so often I have to watch my dryer like a hawk to make sure it's actually drying and not just making a ton of noise.

Very soft - really love this blanket....BUT if you have dogs.....will NOT hold up! Snags galore the first time used.

This blanket is so soft and cozy. Light-weight but just the warmth needed on a chilly night.

From the beginning, the description said "lightweight throw." This isn"t lightweight. A better word......substantial! Next, throw. I can assure anyone, this is not a throw, but a really nice mid-weight "blanket" that will be a wonderful addition to a living room, family room, bedroom, any room where added warmth and coziness is desired.I am very satisfied with the color, not from the standpoint that it was less expensive than the other colors, but I got tired of the same old dark colors.Look, we all buy what we like, but the same old boring stuff is what we all buy all the time. This All-Season Knit Blanket is well made; has a really nice pattern; and its close weave, no doubt, will be warm; a generous size for what I ordered, King, I think; and a great bargain for the price.I think this purchase is a win-win!Once again, thank you Amazon.

Very nice quality. Not too thin, I love that it's cotton. I wanted something suitable for Arizona weather and this blanket is perfect. If you purchase this blanket you won't be disappointed.

Perfect size--it did not shrink and still goes down to the box spring on both sides (I think my mattress is 18 inches. (so often cotton blankets shrink but not this one!). It's the Perfect weight for summer in Texas. I only use 100% cotton because I like the breathability of cotton. This washes beautifully with no pilling. The light blue color is a nice, soft, very light blue.

Nice blanket but not lightweight, mid weight is more accurate. I suffer with night sweats from menopause & I was hoping this would be breathable since it’s cotton. The weave is not open enough to allow air to flow through, so it’s not what I needed.

Very soft feel!! This is a perfect blanket for Florida and exactly what I’ve been looking for, for years!! It’s not too heavy for our summers, and not too light (there are no big gaps or “holes” in the making of it like if it were knitted), for our cooler nights. The color is spot on, a beautiful light blue. The pattern gives it just enough so it’s not boring looking when it’s spread out on the bed. I want to buy another just to have as a backup since it took me so long to find one. My only complaint, if I had to make one, it I wish it was a bit wider for a Twin bed so it would cover the box springs. But I love it so much I’m getting used to it.

I needed blankets for the twin beds my grandsons sleep in when they stay over. These are great. They fit nicely on the beds - not too short or too long - and are soft and comfortable. Since it's winter here, I had additional blankets on the beds, but these should be just right for the spring and fall. With the herring bone pattern, they look really nice. Just want I needed for an excellent price!

First the negatives. The description absurdly claims this is an "All-Season Knit Blanket". Complete nonsense. This is a thin, lightweight cotton blanket. It might be "all season" if you live south of Miami Florida. Anywhere else and it is strictly summer weight and possible early fall - late spring. The description also says it is a "throw blanket" which it is not, it is clearly a bed blanket. It also says the blanket is suitable for "camping". Although nothing would prevent you from bringing it camping I don't see anything that makes it particularly suitable for camping. If temps drop below 60 degrees you'll be spending a cold night in the tent.Now the positives. It is a 100% cotton lightweight blanket. It is soft to the touch and gets softer as you wash it. Although cotton is generally hypoallergenic to most people it is not organic cotton. It is durable and will last many years. The weave is pretty tight which makes it a little warmer. Even the king size can easily be washed and dried in a home washing machine (no running to the laundromat to find a machine big enough for a gigantic puffy blanket). Cotton is very breathable and if you sweat a lot while sleeping this blanket will not hold in humidity and dries quickly. If you get the white color it can be washed in hot water with soap and bleach. If it gets stained it can easily be washed out. I wash mine in hot water with bleach and after several years it still comes out as white as the day I bought it. Washing it in hot and putting it in the dryer will shrink it by a few inches but will tighten the weave and make it a little warmer.I like all the benefits of 100% cotton (and none of the hassles and cost of an expensive puffy down comforter) so I buy 2 king size blankets for a twin bed and fold them over on both sides, essentially giving me a 1 inch thick, 6 layer cotton blanket. It is heavy but warm enough for the coldest nights.

I am really enjoying this lovely blanket! It is truly super soft and lightweight. The teal color is perfect and goes well with my Ocean theme. The design is lovely as well with non boring interesting pattern. Also it is a generous size. I highly recommend :)

I was searching for a well made cotton blanket and found it here. It is a tight weave so no holes are seen. It’s lightweight but very warm. It’s soft and I know it’ll last a long time. I purchased it in white so I can use it in the spring and winter months and it will go with any decor. Great blanket.

I would have given it five stars, but it does snag easily. I love that it’s light. I can sleep with it all night without getting hot. I am so glad I purchased this blanket . Hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I do!!

I bought this blanket in July 2024, its now May 2025. I've been really happy with it. It was light enough to use with just a sheet during the summer (we do have a/c though) and layered it with other blankets for the winter. It is quite soft compared to other 100% cotton blankets (no, of course its not as soft as many of the fleece blankets out there). I have snagged it a couple times with a ring though its MUCH less "snaggy" than the traditional waffle or basketweave imo, and i was able to get it unsnagged by gentle stretching the blanket out over the area in different directions.I wash it on the "hand wash" setting and dry it on low with no problems. The edges seem sewn well. Being 100% cotton, it has become softer over time.The color (blue) is comparable to the picture (my lighting is a bit warm so it looks a little brighter or dustier depending on whether the curtains are open. I'd call it more of a tealish color rather than straight blue (which is exactly what i wanted so im happy).I also like that the stripe design quickly informs which way it goes on the bed when making it. The queen size drapes nicely over the sides of my full size bed (like a bedspread but more modern and nicer looking)I would definitely buy this again. My only wish is that it came in a wider variety of colors (eggplant would get my vote!).
