Vellux Plush Texture Embossed Knit Blanket

I've used Vellux blankets for years and absolutely love them! This plush texture blanket looked inviting, so I wanted to give it a try. Vellux packages their blankets so that you feel like you are getting something extra special. This blanket had the outer plastic wrap to keep it clean and tidy, and underneath the classic Vellux ribbon tie and product tags. My first impression of this blanket was one of exceptional softness. The textured top layer is fuzzy and feather soft. It is difficult to resist touching the blanket top. The bottom layer of this blanket is a lightweight velvety fabric with lots of sheen. The two blanket layers are stitched together around all the four edges but there is no stitching in the blanket center to tack the two layers together. I thought at first this might be a serious drawback but was able to appreciate the layer separation better after laundering this blanket. Because the top and bottom layers are not stitched together, this blanket washed and dried much easier and quicker. Once out of the dryer, this blanket folded easily. After getting it placed on the bed, this blanket was noted to be sized generously, especially lengthwise. No need to worry about this blanket becoming untucked from the bed bottom! Overnight, the dual layers of this blanket essentially functioned as two blankets (with the weight of only one) so it was definitely warm and cozy. I ordered the sage green version and am very pleased with the color received. This blanket has a stellar feel and appearance, so it's difficult to have it hidden beneath a bedspread. I think it will make a wonderful and stylish coverlet in addition to being a blanket.

This blanket is really soft and feels like a high-quality product overall. The plush texture is comfortable and cozy, making it great for relaxing on the couch or adding an extra layer on the bed. It definitely feels like something that will hold up well with regular use.The only thing I wish I had done differently is choosing the larger size. The twin size works, but having the extra coverage of a larger option would make it even more comfortable, especially if you like to wrap up fully or share the blanket.If I had to nitpick one detail, the blanket doesn’t feel like a completely solid single piece. The top and bottom layers feel slightly disconnected from each other, almost like they move independently. It’s not a functional problem, but it is something I noticed compared to some heavier blankets.Overall though, it’s a very soft, comfortable blanket that feels well made for it's price. I would buy it again, just in a larger size next time.

This Vellux plush texture blanket is a polyester blanket that is manufactured like two blankets; a soft slippery bottom blanket and a soft, plush, more textured upper blanket. The are sewn together all around the edges. They come in five colors and three sizes. We received the deep rose king sized version. It measured 108" x 90".Look - The blanket looks great. The color matches what was advertised and is looks soft and luxuriant.Quality - The material is a soft polyester with a nice strong border stitching. The stitching is good, the materials are surprisingly soft the underside feels velvety and the textured upper part is super soft and fluffy. The only problem with the quality is in design. The blanket is very "slippery". It will slide off the bed. We have started using this more like a sheet and tucking it in and sleeping on top of it. It slides to much to use as cover but is so soft we want to use it somehow.Durability - The durability is a question mark for me. Often one side of the blanket will remain in place while the other slides. It hasn't happened yet but I am concerned that they may pull apart on some of the edges if this continues. But this blanket is very heavy and holds heat well , keeping you warm anytime you are under, or on, it.Size - This is listed as a 108 by 90 inch blanket and that is what you get.Value - at $57 this is slightly above average priced, You can get the exact same one from Walmart for 48$.Pros - Soft and great lookingCons - slides around too muchOverall assessment - good deal. It is soft and warm and almost great. We continue to use it but would probably try something different if we needed to purchase another blanket of this type.Stars - 4 - If it were priced a little more competitively or stayed in place better then 5.

I don't like how the blanket isn't attached to itself. I washed this with a towel and when i pulled it from the dryer the blanket was completely twisted up and tangled up with the towel. I always wash a blanket with a towel. In my experience, The towel usually helps dry the blanket by preventing the blanket from tangling. If the blanket was made better it would be nice because the material is very nice and soft and it provides significant warmth. I really don't like how the blanket is always sliding within itself. I think this will be its literal undoing. Vellux has always made great blankets. This one falls short when it should be rising to the top. Four stars is being generous. Brand loyalty wont save you here.

This Vellux plush blanket is easily one of the softest things I’ve ever owned. The two-layer design is interesting: the top has a fuzzy, feather-soft texture that looks luxuriant, while the underside is a silky, velvety fabric. Because these layers are only stitched at the edges and not tacked in the center, the blanket is surprisingly lightweight and dries very quickly in the laundry despite being quite heavy and warm once it's on you.The color is beautiful, and the sizing is generous, especially in the length, so there’s plenty of room to tuck it in at the foot of the bed. However, the biggest thing to keep in mind is how "slippery" it is. Because of the sheen material on the bottom layer and the independent movement of the two fabrics, it has a tendency to slide right off the bed during the night. I’ve found that tucking it in tightly like a sheet or using it as a cozy coverlet on the couch works best. If you can handle the silkiness of the material, it’s a high-quality, cozy blanket that feels like a premium treat.
